Title:
We Should Listen to Ahmadinejad and Withdrawal Our Troops
Created on:
December 12, 2006
In a letter to the American people, President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad of Iran urged the people to demand the withdrawal of U.S. troops from Iraq and to reject what he called the American government's "blind support" for Israel and its "illegal and immoral" actions in fighting terrorism. His letter denounced President Bush's policies in the Middle East and U.S. practices in the war on terror.
Ahmadinejad said in the letter that the U.S. invasion of Iraq, while overthrowing Saddam Hussein, which people "are happy about," had led to hundreds of thousands of deaths, an exponential growth of terrorism, and no rebuilding of Iraq's ruined infrastructure. "I consider it extremely unlikely that you, the American people, consent to the billions of dollars of annual expenditure from your treasury for this military misadventure," he said. Maybe the elected official has a point and we should withdrawal our troops and let them fend for themselves.

I love how he wrote the letter to the American people. Well...we did open a can of worms by de-throning Saddam.

In response to sweetnothing: I think we paved the way for another dictator to take Sadam's place.

Maybe if we were to destroy every road on the Iran/Iraq border (on the Iraq side of course) it might change Nimrodijads tune just a little. Once his thugs like Al-Sadr start to get their clocks cleaned, he might get a new perspective. BTW, why is that clown Al-Sadr still breathing???

Hello all. Maybe we should heed the words of Neville Chamberlin. "Peace in our time." Ooops. That didn't work out so well. So maybe we should listen to the mentors of Nimrodijad. Hitler, Stalin, Mao Tse Tung, Pol Pot. What great friends of human kind they were.

In response to Demomom: And who would you replace our troops with??? We won the war when we captured Saddam and killed his two punk sons. Every time I hear that one of our guys dies, I get pi$$ed. I think that we need to tell the Iraqi's to get some of their Arab friends to help them, or we're leaving.

I wonder how much money Bush's advisor's paid Ahmadinejad to provide them with such a clean and convenient exit strategy?

In response to dasuit:Can you imagine if we had listened to Hitler? Well...in Ahmadinejad's eyes nothing because he still thinks the Holocaust never happened. And, we should listen to him. Give me a break!

Is there any political will behind the letter written to the President?

I think we should decide what to because of what someone else says. We need to decide for ourselves what is best and work to convinced others that this is the best course.

Oh sure, Iran really is concerned about Iraq's well-being? They have financed the Shiite insurgency to disupt the establishment of a multi-party government; have, according to the Saudis, already set up a shadow government within Iraq's borders. We should quickly beef up Iraq's army, bring back the former generals (Baathists), so they can defend themselves against Iran; then get out.
