Title:
Hillary Clinton Cannot Handle Being the Front Runner
Created on:
November 12, 2007
The main problem is that Hillary would not take a clear stance on several issues. Still, she continued her strategy of avoiding direct answers to questions: She wouldn't say how she would address Social Security; she declined to pledge whether she would stop Iran from developing a nuclear weapon, or say whether she supports giving driver's licenses to illegal immigrants. Hillary’s wishy washy responses show some vulnerability and if she plans on being the President of the United States, this is just the beginning. Hillary Clinton cannot handle being the front runner.

She is more to the left than her husband, and she's trying to compensate on the major issues.

In this respect, both Clinton's are alike: They seem to shift whichever way popular sentiment is leaning. The big difference is that Bill is just a lot more likeable.

I saw the debate where Hillary couldn't decide whether giving licenses to illegal immigrants was a good idea. Pathetic.

I'm amazed she's been a front runner for so long...I think it's mostly due to Bill's pull rather than her own merit.

She can most certainly not handle being a front runner with the way she's been going. She needs to decide where she stands and stand there.

Let's see. She can't decide where she stands on the issues. And nobody much likes her. That doesn't sound like it's front runner material for very long.

What's so surprising to me is that she's still ahead in the polls. Anybody have any theories on that?

Still not sure how you can be both for and against drivers licenses for illegals?!?!?! I kind of thought that decisiveness was a good quality in a president.

Nothing about this woman seems genuine...It's all just engineered to win elections.

I don't understand how she got to be a front runner -- isn't the president supposed to be the guy you wouldn't mind grabbing a beer with?

In response to mike:One thing's for sure, in that category, she's definitely not it. I'm not sure how they think they will make her more likeable.

In response to southboca:And I think that unless they figure out how to repackage Hillary to make her more likeable, she doesn't stand a chance of winning.

I think it's very interesting that the people who support Hillary the most, resemble her the least: blue-collar and working-class women, as well as black women. I guess agressive and brash come off as tough and survivalist, perhaps?

In response to Thor:I never would have guessed that. Tho I guess it does make some sense. If you had to fight for everything you've had, and these women have, I guess her personality might take back seat. But I think they will be disappointed if she is elected. I don't think she will deal with, kids, healthcare or family issues with any more finesse than any of the other candidatesl.
