PicktheParty.Com was created to allow people to discuss, agree, disagree and debate political topics. Though the debates are bound to get a bit hostile -- this is politics we are discussing -- and fillibustering is bound to occur, please remember that PicktheParty.Com is a fun site. Therefore, one of our largest sections is dedicated to debating whether a particular person/actor/political figure is conservative or liberal.

How much does it cost to join PicktheParty.Com?
PicktheParty.Com is absolutely FREE to join and only requires that you have a working email account to approve your account. Only one account per email address is accepted.
Does PicktheParty.Com send out SPAM?
Absolutely not! Nor does PicktheParty.Com sell any of our users information to an outside/3rd party. For further information on SPAM, please have a look at our Privacy Policy below.
Why does the registration ask for my Zip Code?
This serves as more of a survey. PicktheParty.Com will later offer a map of the United States that will be color coded based on the information given by our users.
How do you tolerate some of the comments and posts?
Since we live in a free country we'd figure we would have a website that promotes free speech; no matter how much fillibustering is bound to occur. However, if you encounter a post that is extremely racist, sexist or hateful in any matter feel free to contact us.
What if I am offended by the comments made by other users?
Since the topic of each debate will be centered around politics offensive comments are bound to happen. If you are truly annoyed with a comment made by another user, feel free to call them an idiot on us. If the comment is extremely racist, sexist, or hateful feel free to contact us.
Why does each debate start off with 40 posts?
Each debate begins with 40 votes already registered; 20 votes for one side and 20 for the other. We do this to make sure that the first few users to vote can not influence the results of other voters immediately. The 40 votes help keep voting fair and balanced during the beginning of each debate.
Who are Charles Sumner and Preston Brooks?
These two gentlemen are perfect examples of how the most heated of arguments can break out in politics; even during order of the Senate. While in session during the turbulent times in 1857, the anti-slavery debate got so hot that Congressman Preston Brooks of South Carolina jumped out of his chair to beat Massachusetts senator Charles Sumner across the head with his cane. Charles Sumner could not ward the attack and soon found himself bleeding on the Senate floor.
Even the best of people can find themselves enraged when discussing a wedge between two ideals. Fortunately, the internet arena can keep you safe from physical assault.

Massachusetts senator Charles Sumner takes repeated blows to the head from Sounth Carolina Congressman Preston Brooks.
How do I add dynamic/html content to my posts?
Just in case you haven't noticed, PicktheParty does accept various types of HTML code to be added to your posts. This allows our users to add images, flash and videos to their comments.
When HTML is added to a post it goes under an approval mode. Your post will still appear, but it will appear without the HTML you included. Approval usually occurs in under an hour.
